You could hear the gear teeth being skipped as the motor kept turning (all a bit like the clicking when your car’s CV joints have gone), but with a full roller door to enhance the vibrations. It meant that for a week or two, I had to hit the remote closer to stop it, every time I took the car out, and the roller door had reached the ground. A couple of times I’d forgotten to do this, which I’m sure wasn’t great for the neighbours, but I expect was also really bad for the motor and the gears in the roller door closing unit. So, after hunting around for the solution online, it seems that the fix was to readjust the limit switches inside the drive unit, to turn off the motor just at the point where the door hit the
